The OMG goals:
To wear a White Coat,
For the Fitness/Health/Lifestyle Professional to have that level of respect
To follow in the footsteps of Chiropractors and legitimise this field of medical science
To have White Coat wearing Health Professionals performing ??? Preventative Anatomical Procedures (making the body strong and healthy) and Reconstructive Anatomical Adjustments (making people stand straight and tall or posture stuff) and even Restorative Musculoskeletal Physiological Procedures (getting people tosquat properly under load) etc etc etc
Which then leads to the rainbow farting unicorn goal
a 3 year university degree with internships and many fields of specialisation as is deserving of the people who prescribe and administer one of the most powerful medicine's in existence
Respect earnt by equal professional qualification - the uni degree isn't exercisephysiology, it encompass some of that. It's not biology, anatomy and physiology - it encompasses some of that. It's not psychology - it encompasses some of that. It's not dietetics - it encompasses so of that.
Its a degree in physical (or Anatomy and Physiology) health - think a gp of the body.
Gp's deal with the treatment and management of sickness and monitoring the state of "health"
Whereas an General Anatomy & Physiology Health Practitioner deals with the treatment and management of the Anatomy and Physiology and monitoring any potential threats to the "Anatomy and physiology's" health
So a University degree with
Anatomy and Physiology
Nutrition
Psychology
Analysing methodologies
Treatment methodologies
Disease, disorder and more
I know we get all that with this course
So I'll a question
Your working outdoors and trip and fall, unfortunately a stick goes in your ear and right into your brain, fortunately your not dead, so off you go to find a brain surgeon, because damn there's a stick in your brain, right. SO in you walk to the surgeon's office and there proudly sits, in a spanky $10,000 suit, a brain surgeon, on the wall you notice a certificate 4 in brain surgerin' from old Hog U. Puzzled you ask "is that all you did" and the brain surgeon, quick as you please says "yep, smashed it out in 100 days" (my goal when I started, as a personal view on my journey, anyhow). So there you sit, stick in the brain and someone with a certificate 4 is about to do surgery on you.
2 Questions
1. What do you do? Let old cert 4 tinker with your thinker? or run away from the scary unqualified person?
(Sure in essense it's easy, cut open noggin, pull out stick, inject tons of drugs, sew person up -it's not that hard or dangerous right? although I noticed I cut the person before giving them drugs, I'm gonna leave that, oopsy)
and
2. Why doesn't sitting across from a Health and Fitness Professional elicit the same response?
Scary, Scary, Scary right?
well what will i do? spend 200 more days going hmmmm.......
What will you do???????
